I am an Olah Hadashah. I live in Masu’a / Givat C. I love this neighborhood. There are many parks close by and the streets have relatively wide sidewalks. I use a mobility cart some of the time and can drive on the sidewalks generally. It is easy to get into Anabe Park- staircases close by to get there by foot, or for those with a car, it is even easier to get there. There are many bus stops nearby and the buses run frequently. I walk my dog most of the time down Nahar Hayarden to Emek HaHula and back- it’s easy to get to the city center or towards the area of the ampitheater, fish park and library center. There are many parks and walking areas on Emek HaHula and a small shopping center (Country Center) with a Carrefour Market, a few places to eat, some small shops, a barber, a wonderful veterinarian and dog groomer etc. There are 2 major groceries in walking distance, (Shufersal and Carrefors)and numerous synagogues. There are also at least 4 -6 sets of stairs that you can take down to several parks, Azrielli Mall, the Central Train Station or the Ma’ar. A bit harder walking back (if you are carrying much or not great with stairs). I have found the people in the area by and large, very friendly. Also a lot of dogs and cats if you are pet friendly. Plus, I also feel that by and large this is a VERY safe neighborhood.
People are ridiculously nice, it is quite a shock when you move from a city like Jerusalem. Modi’in people are nice, patient, considerate, it is a whole different universe here. I would say it is a very family oriented city, so if you find young people (25 and less) they are probably the kids of the families living here, but not that they actively moved here (unless they are starting their own family already). Lots of English speakers and Spanish speakers. We are not religious, but we moved here because their education system is great and we are planning to have kids soon. The neighborhood is quiet, safe, and we have nice neighbours.
