Prachim (meaning 'flowers') is one of the older neighborhoods in Modi'in. It is near the city center and has a nice mix of older properties with some newer buildings that have been going up over the recent years. It has smaller streets and is known for its charm.

Prachim is an older neighborhood in Modi'in. It has a quaint neighborhood feel, with many one way, tree-lined streets.

Community

Prachim is a mixed community, though it tends to be a bit more secular/pluralistic and a little more Israeli than some other areas. The anglo community in the area is close-knit - with many older olim living in the neighborhood as well as newer South African and Americans families who have moved there more recently.

Amenities

Prachim is very close to city-center - meaning easy access to stores, restaurants, cafes, mall, train, etc. Prachim is also the main location for Modi'in 'urgent care' (Terem) and the central location for Maccabi healthcare. Plus, lovely parks and other smaller centers in the neighborhood.

Housing Options

Prachim offers a mix of cottages and apartments. Many have stairs to reach the homes, but there are some options with better accessibility. Further, there are some newer buildings with elevators. Many homes in the area have converted garages into units or offices, which tends to make parking in the area a bit more challenging.

We have been living in Prachim for years

and we have amazing friends in the area. We like the more established feel of the neighborhood and the fact that we are so close to the city center means we have the best of all worlds - a sense of community and residential feel, but close to nightlife options.
