CENTER OF TOWN

The Center of Town (known as the 'ma'ar' - short for merkaz ha'eyr) is a newer area that is the main commercial area of the city. It has many office buildings, stores, cafes, restaurants as well as the main police station and the Hashmonaim museum. It also has many residences and is popular due to its central location.

The Center of Town has a vibrant, bustling feel. It has a beautiful pedestrian median, with benches and some stores. The area has an energetic feel with its mix of residents, locals, professionals and guests.

The Center of Town is not only a business and commercial center, but home for many locals. It has a social and dynamic feel that attracts young couples, divorcees and other Israeli/Anglo residents that want a quieter lifestyle, but maintaining a city-feel.
